HANOI TO CAT BA – DWS CLIMBING – KAYAKING WITH PLANKTON - BACK TO HA NOI

07:00 - 7:15| Pick up in Hanoi
We’ll pick you up at your hotel in Hanoi Old Quarter (or the agreed meeting point) and start our journey to Cat Ba Island via the Hanoi–Hai Phong expressway and Cat Hai bridge.

11:30 | Arrive in Cat Ba – Light lunch & rest
Arrive on Cat Ba Island
Have a light lunch (not included) and take a short rest before the afternoon adventure.

DWS Itinerary

12:30  Meet your guides at the Cat Ba Climbing office and get equipment for the day
1:00  Transportation to Ben Beo Harbor
1:10   Cruise through the Floating Village and try to spot the critically endangered Cat Ba Langur before traveling out to the heart of Lan Ha Bay
1:50  Guides will do a quick safety briefing and explain what to expect for the day.  Get ready for your first climb and jump of the day!
2:00-5:00  Climbing a Sea Face and Three Brothers 

5:00  Finish climbing and tranfer to the floating house
 

Sea Face

Start off building confidence in your climbing above the water and warm up with some easier routes and traverses.  Every step of the way, our experienced guides will oversee the safety of the group and provide coaching, ensuring you're fully prepared to enjoy the climb—and the leap!   Then the group will progressively move to more challenging routes and boulder style problems.

• Sea Face features around 25 routes, ranging in difficulty from 4a to 7c, with most falling between 5a and 6b.
• For those who prefer to stay closer to the water, there are also traverse routes with lower jumping points
• Note:  During low tides or with more beginner oriented groups we may spend the entire time climbing at this wall. 

The Three Brothers Wall (tide and group dependent)

After exploring Sea Face, the adventure continues as we cruise to our second climbing spot - Three Brothers. This wall features a wide variety of lines and is suited for climbers looking to push their limits, while still having enough beginner friendly climbs.

• Features around 18 routes, graded from 4+ to 7c+
• Expect more technical climbs, power moves, and higher jumps

5:10-6:30 | Relax and Enjoy Lan Ha Bay at Sunset
 

6:30 | Dinner on a floating house

Enjoy a delicious seafood dinner on a floating house surrounded by peaceful waters and glowing lights from nearby fishing boats.
 

7:00-8:30 | Night kayaking to see plankton

Explore Lan Ha bay by kayak and search for bioluminescent plankton.    In the darkest places the sea will sparkle underneath you like stars and each paddle stroke or splash will light up in the night with a blue glow.  Enjoy the peace a quiet of the Bay under a starry sky and no one else around. 
 

9:00 | Arrive at the Cat Ba Climbing office
Take a speedboat back from the floating house and a taxi back.   Enjoy a free drink and take a hot shower at the office.  

9:30 PM |  Depart from Cat Ba
Take a private car and speedboat back to Hanoi
 

11:30-12:00 PM | Arrive in Hanoi

 IMPORTANT NOTES

The schedule depends on the tide.
Bioluminescent plankton is best seen on dark, moonless nights and calm waters.  Although it is always present in the day we can not guarntee how visible it will be.  
 

Minimum 2 people required. If there is only 1 guest, the price is 4,600,000 VND

Please bring swimwear, towel, sunscreen, drinking water, and a change of clothes.
